If you’re in the market for dependable sports earbuds that aren’t just robust and weather-resistant but also deliver an extra helping of bass, the MIIEGO MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO are worth a closer look. These true wireless in-ears feature a secure hook design, a long-lasting battery, and even a power-bank function for your smartphone. Wondering how the MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO perform and where there’s room for improvement? Check out our detailed review to find out.

Wearing Comfort

Thanks to their ear-hook design, the MIIEGO MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO stay firmly in place, even during quick, jerky movements. Of course, achieving a stable fit requires finding the right ear tip size—fortunately, five different silicone and foam eartips (in various sizes) are included for a tailored fit.

Each earbud weighs about 10 grams, which positively impacts wearing comfort. Additionally, the hook system places less pressure on the ear canal than standard in-ear models. To support training in wet or snowy conditions, these sports earbuds are IPX7-rated water- and sweat-resistant.

Battery Life

At higher volume levels, these sports earbuds can last an impressive 12 hours and 15 minutes. A quick 10-minute charge provides enough capacity for about two hours of playback, while a full charge takes roughly 90 minutes. The charging case itself can completely recharge the earbuds eight full times (and a half-charge once more) before needing external power—giving you over 116 hours in total.

Weighing 123 grams, the case isn’t exactly compact, but it houses a 2,200 mAh battery that doubles as a power bank via its USB-A output. A USB-C port lets you recharge the case in about two and a half hours using the included USB-C to USB-A cable. Alternatively, you can power the case wirelessly through a Qi charging pad.

Bluetooth Specs

In addition to SBC and AAC audio codecs, the MIIEGO MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO support Bluetooth 5.4. Both outdoors and indoors, the connection proved stable enough to handle multiple rooms over two floors, and outdoors you can expect around 25 meters of range. However, note that these earbuds do not offer multipoint pairing with two devices simultaneously.

Controls

Each earbud has a three-button remote that remains easy to operate, even during intense workouts or in damp conditions. You can manage playback, handle calls, adjust volume, and skip tracks. When paired with an iOS device, Siri can be summoned. You can also manually power the earbuds on/off using the buttons—meaning you don’t have to rely on the relatively large charging case for everything, which is a bonus.

If you wish, you can use either earbud alone in single-mode. However, the button assignments are fixed, and the control scheme cannot be customized via the app. An Ambient Mode is also absent—something some might miss for enhanced situational awareness or conversation without removing the earbuds.

MIIEGO App

The MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO pair with an Android or iOS app that provides an EQ section, featuring eight presets for different genres like Pop, Rock, and Jazz. There’s also a 10-band custom equalizer; however, custom settings cannot be saved as separate presets—an improvement that would be welcome.

Beyond EQ, the app offers a player interface for playback controls, volume adjustments, and track selection, plus a configurable timer. A tracking feature can be enabled to help you locate your earbuds if lost. Firmware updates are also available. One caveat: using the MIIEGO app requires registration, which is somewhat unusual.

Call Clarity

In quiet environments, these sports earbuds provide clear, distinct call quality. Outdoors, wind noise is fairly well-reduced by ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation); only stronger gusts introduce a minor rushing sound on the other end. While the general speech flow can occasionally appear slightly choppy, your voice remains intelligible. Ambient noise is also suppressed, albeit not consistently—occasionally leading to fragmented transmissions. While that isn’t the most pleasant for the listener, communication still remains feasible since your voice is prioritized.

Sound

The MIIEGO MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO deliver a highly bass-oriented sound profile intended to keep you energized during workouts. Impressively, the substantial bass remains enjoyable for slower pop or rock ballads—bold, yet not overpowering. For club-oriented tracks, however, the low-end can feel very heavy, particularly in the sub-bass range—though this can be reduced via EQ, thereby making the overall presentation more controlled.

Midrange reproduction stands out for its clarity, allowing vocals to cut through even a weighty overall mix. Voices sound full-bodied, with enough energy to remain compelling yet not fatiguing. This warmth also benefits spoken audio content, such as podcasts and audiobooks.

The treble region is present without being overly bright, leaning toward a softer, more forgiving tone. As a result, crisp, sparkling highs may be limited, but there’s virtually no harshness or sibilance, even at louder volumes. That said, a notable decoding error emerges with older recordings like Aretha Franklin’s “Respect,” where elements intended for the left channel appear on the right side, presumably due to a decoding bug MIIEGO will need to address.

Conclusion

If you can live without an Ambient Mode, the MIIEGO MiiBUDS ACTIVE GO offer extremely secure-fitting, bass-centric sports earbuds powered by lengthy, quick-charging batteries. The charging case’s built-in power bank also proves handy. However, these weatherproof ear-hook earbuds lack multipoint pairing, and at present, decoding errors on older tracks can dampen your listening experience—a point that needs manufacturer attention.
