The Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear is definitely one of the best in-ear headphones on the market. Both the wearing comfort and the sound leave nothing to be desired, and the puristic, elegant design will make you rave. The workmanship and the functions are simply the icing on the cake.
If a manufacturer has the words “without compromises” and “avant-garde” printed on their product packaging, then you can expect a lot. Maybe even everything.
The Momentum comes with a wide range of accessories: a high-quality hard shell case with zipper and a device for winding up the cable and storing the in-ears. There are also ear adapter sets in different sizes to provide a suitable attachment for each shell size. The attachments are very easy to exchange and you can quickly find the right one. Helpfully, a small mark on the underside of the headphones shows you which side belongs in which ear.
Functionality
The elliptical cables offer less clutter and the angled jack plug is very practical – everything makes a high-quality impression. When buying, make sure you buy the right model for your smartphone. You can choose between Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, etc..
The cable contains both the remote control and the hands-free kit. In addition, the voice control of the corresponding device can also be controlled via microphone – “Hello Siri”/”Hello Gesa” – and the voice quality when telephoning is also very good!
Sound
As you would expect from Sennheiser, the sound is excellent and it doesn’t miss anything or appear too much in either the highs or in the lows. Classic, jazz or pop, the Momentum In-Ear reproduces everything flawlessly and evenly in a very pleasant, unobtrusive way. Also, the spatial representation is very balanced. Be aware: if you haven’t picked the right ear adapters, you might be disappointed by the bass, so make sure to choose carefully. Spare pads are available from Sennheiser.
Wearing comfort
The ergonomic tilt angle of 15 degrees ensures, according to the manufacturer, that you hardly feel the momentum. Indeed, in conjunction with the matching attachment, it’s actually as if it weren’t even there. A positive side effect of the fitting accuracy is the noise reduction – even with Ravel’s Bolero finale, the person sitting next to you won’t notice it. And you don’t have to bother with annoying background noises either, although the rustling of the cable could be a bit more discreet.
